There is no denying that climate change is now a major issue and probably the biggest challenge the human race will face in the 21st century. Over the past 100 years, our relentless use of fossil fuels and terrible wasting habits have undoubtedly contributed to our planet's rapid warming. Now as we move into 2023 our world stands on the brink of a full-scale natural disaster and we must act as the parents of the globe to safeguard the future of this planet.
Unfortunately, there is no denying it, we are in a climate crisis. Though we shouldn't give up yet and there is light at the end of the tunnel. How do we know this? Because there is living proof that if we change our habits the earth has a brilliant ability to repair itself.
In the early weeks of January 2023, it was announced that our ozone layer (one of the earth's most important natural protective barriers) had almost completely healed after years of sustained damage. During the 1980s and 90’s the world produced many machines and items that released extremely harmful chemicals that were rapidly destroying the ozone layer. In fact, the issue got so bad that there was a huge hole in this protective barrier and the UN had to step in. After the members of the UN agreed to ban these toxic items the ozone layer began to repair itself and this year it has almost completely recovered.
So, if we act now and change our lifestyles to protect our planet we have a genuine chance to save it. Keep reading this blog to check out a few easy ways to help fight climate change.
